The North Royalton Board of Education’s monthly School Board meeting took place on Monday, February 14.
The music group Royal Harmony performed was recognized for their various awards.
The Board approved the following 2021-22 appropriation adjustments:
– 507 Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief from $3,993,716.42 to $4,018.124.42
– 516 IDEA from $1,333,565.38 to $1,343,511.77
– 572 Title I from $438,600.12 to $440,778.90
– 587 IDEA from $39,887.35 to $40,071.64
– 590 Improving Teacher Quality/Title IIA from $108,464.76 to $109,126.25
School Superintendent Mike Laub thanked the crews that do the snow removal. “It’s been a lot and the other thing I don’t think people think about is that one of our campuses is brand new and so you live and learn and you do snow removal on a new campus. I just think they’ve done a really outstanding job.” He went on to talk about the beginning of the strategic plan process. “We will be gathering information through surveys first and some in-person meetings. I certainly encourage anyone interested in providing feedback to do that.”
The Board approved John Kelly as delegate and Anne Reinkober as alternate to the Ohio School Board Association’s Annual Capital Conference, to be held November 13-15, 2022.
The Board approved the 2021-22 edition of The Interagency Agreement Regarding the Provision of Service Delivery and Transition for Young Children and Families.
The Board amended the service agreement with PSI Affiliates, Incorporated/PSI Associates, Incorporated for the 2021-22 school year for auxiliary services at St. Albert the Great and appoint Julie Bogden as administrator. The services are for an Educational Specialist Clerk.
The Board approved a contract with Windsor Learnwell at a per diem rate for educational services for students placed at Windsor Laurelwood.
The Board amended the locally defined seal for Fine and Performing Arts graduation seals as part of the Ohio graduation requirements for earning a diploma as part of the permanent requirements for the classes of 2022 and 2023 and beyond as follows: students must earn two high school credits in the fine and/or performing arts or successfully participate in two drama productions as a member of the cast or crew.
The Board approved the North Royalton High School Course Catalog for the 2022-23 school year.
The Board approved a revised agreement with McKeon Education Group, Incorporated for Title I services for the 2021-22 school year at the following schools: Holy Family, $1,320.88; Incarnate Word Academy, $1,231.05.
The Board approved the revised agreement with PSI Affiliates, Incorporated for Title I services for the 2021-22 school year for the following schools: Academy of St. Bartholomew, $2,462.10; St. Albert the Great, $16,003.66; St. Charles of Borromeo, $3,857.84.
The Board recognized the retirement of Cynthia Sostakowski. They also accepted the following retirements and resignations:

The Board approved and acknowledged the following gifts and donations:
“-Darla and John Taddeo from Sagamore Hills donated $40 to the Caring Closet at North Royalton High School.
-Lia and Salvatore Consiglio donated $150 to the Caring Closet at North Royalton High School.
-Linda Barath of North Royalton donated manila file folders valued at approximately $15 to North Royalton City Schools.
-Gearin’ Up LLC donated $89 to the Winter Sports Club at North Royalton Middle School.
-Patty Malley of North Royalton donated a TI 83Plus calculator and manual valued at approximately $100 to North Royalton High School.
-Chuck and Betty Mercurio of North Royalton donated $662 dollars to be applied to the eighth-grade Washington, D.C. trip at North Royalton Middle School.”
The next regular Meeting will be held on March 14, at 7 p.m. at the North Royalton High School Community Room.
