The North Royalton Board of Education held their yearly organizational meeting on Thursday, January 4.
The Board elected Jackie Arendt as President of the 2024 School Board and Lisa Shuck as Vice President.
The Board approved the appointment of Jackie Arendt as Cuyahoga Valley Career Center Representative.
The Board approved the scheduled dates for the Work Sessions and Regular Board meetings.
The Board established a service fund for 2023 in the amount of $20,000.00.
The Board renewed the membership in the Ohio School Boards Association, effective January 1 through December 31, 2024. They also approved Squire Patton Boggs, The Riley Law Firm, Ennis Britton Co., L.P.A, and Bair Law LLC. for legal counsel representation, on an as-needed basis, for the 2024 calendar year.

The Board authorized the School Superintendent/designee to: Employ such personnel as needed;
Apply for and coordinate all state and federal programs; Serve as purchasing agent for the District and Approve professional conferences.
The Board authorized the District Treasurer to: Make appropriation modifications within each fund to any other appropriation classification within such fund as the need may arise; Pay all bills within the limits of the appropriations resolution as bills are received and when merchandise has been received in acceptable condition; Sign all checks (one signature) drawn on the Board of Education accounts; Waive the reading of the minutes of the last Board of Education meeting; Make advances and transfers as needed and report to the Board; Make investments with active funds, as they are available.
