The North Royalton Boys Basketball team had set Goal Number One when their off-season workouts took place during the summer months. The Goal: To win the Suburban League National Conference Championship. On February 14, the team was able to say “Mission Accomplished!” In front of a packed house at the Herman L. Joy Gymnasium, the Bears defeated Brecksville-Broadview Heights 58-45 to wrap up the title. There’s a whole lot of love at Royal Redeemer Lutheran Church and School. On Valentine’s Day, the church and school community celebrated “Love in Action Day,” with school students performing a heart-warming mix of service projects and church members baking, packaging and hand-delivering close to 2,000 cookies to 75 locations throughout North Royalton, Strongsville and Brunswick. City to sell old compost facility property
The North Royalton City Council unanimously adopted legislation that would allow the Mayor and Community Development Director to go out for bids for city-owned property on Royalton Road. “We no longer need it, so why have it,” said Mayor Larry Antoskiewicz. “If we don’t think we’re going to utilize it and we have to continue to pay for upkeep and such, why do it?” The city’s old compost facility, located on Royalton Road, near Abbey Road, has not been utilized for several years. New Council discusses changes to Deer Legislation
After Police Chief Ken Bilinovich gave City Council an update on the 2019 deer season statistics at the January meeting of the Council Safety Committee, Ward 4 Councilman Jeremy Dietrich stated that he thought the cost of the hunting permit should be reduced. “They are doing a favor for the city,” he noted, regarding the reduction of the deer population.
