City approves contract for new Senior Center design

The City of North Royalton has approved a contract for the new senior center at the old Royal View Elementary School with FMC Architects LLC and Frank Castrovillari, who is the founder and President. Schools are graded on State report card

The Ohio Department of Education (ODE) recently released the 2022 Ohio School Report Card for all districts in the state of Ohio. The State Report Card is one way to measure our educational system. The data used by the ODE analyzes performance of each district and is broken down into six components: Achievement, Progress, Early Literacy, Gap Closing, Graduation and College, Career, Workforce and Military Readiness. City to increase jail rates for 2023

The North Royalton City Council unanimously adopted an ordinance that will raise the charges for both annual and per diem rental of the City’s jail cells for 2023. According to the ordinance, “the annual rate to be charged for 2023 be fixed at Sixty-Three Thousand Eight Hundred Seventy-Five Dollars ($63,875) per jail cell bed and that the per diem rate be fixed at Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) per jail cell bed.” Currently, the City has the cities of Parma Heights, Broadview Heights, Brecksville and Berea under contract. The September meeting of the North Royalton Board of Education took place on September 12. The Board approved the 2022-23 appropriation adjustments. The Board approved the following transfers: 401-9022 Auxiliary Services - St. Albert to 401-9023 Auxiliary Services - St. Albert’s, $28,823.87; 401-9022 Auxiliary Services - Royal Redeemer to 401-9023 Auxiliary Services - Royal Redeemer, $13,578.33. Good healthy info and fun at Health Fair & Family Expo

The weather was perfect for the annual Health Fair & Family Expo with the 5K Bear run and one-mile Wellness Walk on September 10. Runners gathered around the starting arch waiting for the official and timed start of the 5K. Age groups for the race went from 10 and under to 70 and older. Check in was 8 – 9 a.m. for an entry packet and a T-shirt. There were some people who walked in and signed up on the spot.
