North Royalton Sports Hall of Fame opens its doors to three new members
During the North Royalton High School Sports Awards Banquet, induction ceremonies were held for the NR Athletic Hall of Fame class of 2022. The three new members are Frank Calarco, who graduated in 2010, Nicole Hudek, a 2011 graduate of North Royalton High School, and Christine Siliko Brosky, who graduated in 1982. Frank was a member of the North Royalton Wrestling team. Building Commissioner resigns to accept Parma position
North Royalton Building Commissioner Dan Kulchytsky has announced his resignation, effective June 30. His resignation was reported by Mayor Larry Antoskiewicz at the June 7 City Council meeting. “I was originally from Parma and I still live in Parma,” noted Kulchytsky. “The Building Commissioner for the City of Parma is resigning and this position will give me the opportunity to try new things and also to face different challenges, but I think I’m up for it. June is Pet Preparedness Month. For pet owners, it is taking the additional step in ensuring that their non-human family members are protected in case of an emergency. Ohio House passes Transgender Bill
Earlier this month, the 134th General Assembly Ohio House of Representative passed legislation to ban transgender girls and women from playing college and high school women’s sports. Ohio House Bill 151, passed 56 to 28. If passed in the Senate and signed by the Governor, this would affect the policies of the Ohio High School Athletic Association, the National Collegiate Athletic Association and the National Junior College Athletic Association, who do currently have policies that allow for transgender athletes to participate in women’s sports. Seniors attend Commencement full of happiness, hope and anticipation
It is June 3, 2022, 5:15 p.m. All students have reported to Gym 1 of the high school. This is it! They report to their assigned seats, last minute instructions are given, a last-minute restroom stop is encouraged, and the entire class takes a final field trip on school buses to Playhouse Square.
