The North Royalton Board of Education held their October meeting on Monday, October 9.
Assistant Superintendent Melissa Vojta and Director of Secondary Curriculum and Instruction, Jeff Cicerchi reviewed the state report card rating of the district.
The Board approved the Fiscal Year 2024 Five-Year Forecast.
School Superintendent Mike Laub clarified the school calendar, stating that “this year, obviously, the Board of Elections have asked to use both Royal View and the Elementary School for the November voting day. So, as the communications stated that went out last week, we will have a non-student day at the Elementary School on voting day (Tuesday, November 7). We haven’t made a decision yet on the spring, for the Primary. We want to see how things go on voting day. The calendar that is on the agenda for your consideration, has next November, that election day, a non-school day, district-wide. We don’t want to put it on as a day, then take it off. I want to make this clear that it is not eliminating an instruction day for our students. We’re moving that day somewhere else, so it’s going to be a non-student day, just like any other non-student day, but we’re still going to have the same number of instructional days for our students next school year. As far as the spring of next year, we’ll wait and see what that looks like as well.”
