The North Royalton Chamber of Commerce was formed a hundred years ago to assist in creating an environment in which local businesses could prosper and owners would work as one to further the area’s economic wellbeing.
The Chamber’s publication, the Royalton Recorder, will kick off the bicentennial celebration by sponsoring a two-day Sidewalk Sale event on July 28 and 29.
Every local business, in every corner of the community, is being encouraged to open doors wide for visiting customers, who can easily traverse many of North Royalton’s shopping districts on-foot. A number of businesses will be holding outdoor tent sales and special promotions all in honor of promoting local commerce and celebrating the special birthdays of the City and Chamber.
Todd Allen of Generations Antiques and More, located at 13630 Ridge Road, said he plans on hosting an outdoor tent event with a “Christmas in July” celebratory theme, as his holiday items are always top sellers. Because the Sidewalk Sale also falls during the Pet Carnival on the City Green, Allen plans to have pet items on sale including leashes and collars, and a special area with pet treats and a splash pool for visiting pooches.
Royalton Gifts, a family-run business at 6556 Royalton Road, staffed by three generations of women – grandmother, mother, and daughter – is also planning an outdoor event for the Sidewalk Sale. A raffle and refreshments will accompany their event and visitors can see a sampling of the store’s most popular lines
Danielle Romstadt, owner of Madelyn Rose Consignment and Boutique, located at 6552 Royalton Road, is celebrating one year in business and will celebrate the Sidewalk Sale. The store may feature an additional discounts on all consignment, including its designer pieces. “I’m a longtime resident and I love being a part of this city in this way,” Romstadt said.
Covenant at 12801 State Road has a super sidewalk sale going on throughout the month of July. They are offering a selection of books, gifts, home decor and more. They also have a coupon special on their ad in this paper. “We are looking forward to being a part of this event and will have tables set out with sale items,” said Mary Lou Mallinak.
Any business that would like to take part in the bicentennial sidewalk sale should contact the Royalton Recorder at rrnews@aol.com and give us the name and address of your company. In the July 26 issue, the Recorder will include a free listing of all businesses participating in the sidewalk sale. There will also be space included for participants who would like to advertise specials they will be offering.
