What has become an annual tradition, North Royalton Ward 3 Councilman Dan Langshaw and Broadview Heights Ward 2 Councilman Brian Wolf will bet for charity on which team will win the Golden Shoe Game on Friday, Oct. 12, at 7 p.m. when the Bears defend the Golden Shoe against the BBHHS Bees. Typically, the loser of the bet wears the winning team’s T-shirt as part of his dress attire for a future city council meeting and then makes a donation to winner’s charity of choice. This year Councilman Langshaw is supporting the North Royalton Athletic Boosters and Councilman Wolf is supporting the Brecksville Broadview Heights School Educational Foundation.
Their bet has intensified this year with new Broadview Heights business Wild Eagle Steak & Saloon teaming up with them. On October 11, at 8 p.m. the restaurant is hosting a Hog-A-Sutra eating contest between Langshaw and Wolf. They will have 30 minutes to eat three pounds of spicy barbeque bacon, two mac-and-cheese balls, two burger patties and one pound of fries. The winner will receive $5 Wild Eagle gift cards for his team’s fans. They are also having a very competitive Football Friday Night Face Off contest to see who has the most fans who like their videos on social media. To vote for Langshaw’s video, go to facebook.com/wildeaglebroadview/videos/488395198308062/. Wolf’s Bees video is on facebook.com/wildeaglebroadview/videos/488483988301185/. The videos are also posted on the Wild Eagle Steak & Saloon Broadview Heights Instagram page. The councilman with the most likes gets to Pie the loser in the face.
