NR Cares is held each year to collect needed school supplies for eligible families in our City just before the start of school which is on August 24. The kick-off event for the program will be on Wednesday, July 27. It will be held at the 3 Spot located at 13866 Ridge Road from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
There will be free appetizers provided, but we are asking all those who attend to bring a donation of school supplies or to contribute a $10 gift card from Office Max or Drug Mart. Checks can be made out to the Charitable trust fund of North Royalton Kiwanis with a memo it is for school supplies. Applications should be submitted to the Office on Aging, 13500 Ridge Road from 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. In order to be eligible you will need to be a resident of North Royalton and show proof of this with a current utility bill. We will also need proof of income.
The income eligibility range is: Size of Household Total Gross Annual Income: One $20,598; Two $27,878; Three $35,158; Four $42,438; Five $49,718; Six $56,998.
For those with more than seven in the household, please contact the office. This program is for students in the North Royalton greater school district. Donations may be dropped off at the Office on Aging or the Royalton Recorder.
We will need to know the age and school grade of your children. Applications will be accepted until Friday, August 12. Pick-up days for the school supplies will be on Monday and Tuesday, August 22 and 23, at the Office on Aging from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
