The North Royalton High School football players will coordinate the Ninth Annual Coats for Kids/Stuff the Bus event on Saturday, Nov. 17, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. The community is asked to bring gently used coats and cash donations to the North Royalton Board of Education parking lot, 6579 Royalton Road, where the players will “stuff” a North Royalton school bus with the donations. This event benefits the children of Northeast Ohio and is a way for the North Royalton school community to give back to those in need.
Stuff the Bus will be a “drive and drop” operation, so coat and cash donors do not have to leave their vehicle to make a donation.
Coats for Kids appreciates donations of new or like-new winter coats in all sizes. The coats that are donated at Stuff the Bus will be redistributed to Northeast Ohio children through various social service agencies.
“Coats for Kids is extremely privileged to benefit from the nine-year Stuff the Bus heritage in North Royalton,” said Debbie Martinko, Coats for Kids executive director. “Stuff the Bus was started by a football family and remains one of the signature, generous traditions of the Bears football team. Last year, the team raised more than $4,000 and collected 574 coats.”
Several local businesses have offered to be food sponsors for the 2018 event. Zeppe’s Pizza in North Royalton will again deliver sheet pizzas for volunteers on Saturday afternoon. Becker’s Donuts, also in North Royalton, will provide donuts for the volunteers’ breakfast.
