The City Green will be the place to be, starting this spring. An Artisan Market, CLE Market, will be coming to North Royalton starting in May. The pop-up, produce-style outdoor market will take place one Saturday a month from May through October.
“The market will showcase thirty vendors, including local businesses, selling high quality foods, baked goods, art, textiles, flowers and more,” according to CLE Market officials. CLE Market was first established in 2020 in northeast Ohio.
According to Mayor Larry Antoskiewicz, “We’ll be doing it once a month, starting in May and running through October. It’s a good partnership and a way of starting something good. I believe that it’s a good opportunity for us to allow our residents to start getting out and about, while showcasing some of our vendors in the city. There will be other vendors and opportunities for local vendors to participate.”
The market will feature a different local, nonprofit partner each month. The first market day, May 8, will have the North Royalton Garden Club as its partner, said Antoskiewicz.
The CLE Market event schedule is: Saturday, May 8, Saturday, June 12, Saturday, July 10, Saturday, August 14, Saturday, September 11, Saturday, October 9. Markets will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Other cities and townships that are hosting the market are Olmsted Township, Fairview (Fairview Youngs Art Center), and Berea (Coe Lake). Visit the CLE Market website at www.cle-market.com for scheduled markets in other areas near North Royalton. Any businesses that might be interested in participating in the market may get an application at the website, under vendor application.
“One thing I’ve been talking about from an economic perspective is how we have a lot of unused space at the City Green where the old City Hall was in the center of town and it would be a great thing if we used it more often for events, and had a farmers market, etc. on that space,” wrote Ward 6 Councilman Mike Wos in his newsletter. Looks like this will be a good start.
