The Royalton Players is heading to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as tickets are now on sale to the Harry Potter Murder Mystery, which will be held October 25 at Carrie Cerino’s Restaurant in North Royalton. The event is scheduled to begin at 7 pm, in the restaurant’s ballroom.
“Because of the popularity of our two previous Harry Potter murder mysteries, we are heading back to Hogwarts to solve another crime,” said Chuck Poliafico, writer and director of the show, who also serves as president of the Royalton Players.
“This time around, it is Harry Potter’s best friend and sidekick, Ron Weasley, who is murdered,” Poliafico said. “Of course Harry Potter is at the top of the list as a suspect, along with Ron’s girlfriend, Hermione Granger. Other suspects include Draco Malfoy, Headmaster Albus Dumbledore, Professor Minerva McGonagall, Professor Snape, Professor Trelawney, Luna Lovegood, Neville Longbottom, Gilderoy Lockhart and several more.
According to Poliafico, those attending do not have to be well versed in the Harry Potter stories. “Those attending are going to have a great time if they know a lot or nothing about the Harry Potter movies and books,” he said. “Also, those wishing to dress up in Harry Potter outfits are welcomed to do so.”
The Royalton Players murder mystery events are very interactive with the audience, Poliafico said, adding that the suspects travel to each table for questioning. “Each table acts as a team, and it will be up to those attending to ask as many questions to the suspects, review all the evidence given to them and then make a guess as to who the real murderer could be,” he said.
In addition to Poliafico, other area residents involved in the event include Danielle Trybala, Luka Guzina, Wali Shariff, Mary Manos Mitchem, Deborah Urycki, Owen Urycki, Emma Salancy, Tom Doyle and George Rovnak. Matt Black and Nick Bloxsom serve as the assistant detectives, with Jessica Jabbour as box office manager, and Brittany Jabbour as gift basket table manager.
Tickets are $35 each and includes a full course dinner, the show, grand prizes and more. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Those interested in purchasing tickets should contact the Royalton Players Box Office at 440-877-0009.
