The first meeting of the North Royalton Board of Education took place on Thursday, January 4.
The Board adopted the Fiscal Year 2023-24 Tax Budget. It then approved the following appropriation adjustment: 019 Recreation Facilities, from $83,175.55 to $704,118.13.
School Superintendent, Mike Laub, reported that school was back in session after the holiday break and “it’s been a good week. . . The kids are back and in gear.”

School Superintendent, Mike Laub, proclaimed January as School Board Recognition Month.
The Board authorized Summer School and Safety Town for the summer of 2024.
The Board approved an agreement with Apptegy for website services.
The Board accepted and acknowledged the following gifts/donations:
“-The North Royalton Stadium Foundation donated $70,000 towards the stadium turf.
-Aggie Ozello of North Royalton donated scrapbook paper and miscellaneous crafting supplies, valued at approximately $300, to the art department at North Royalton High School”

The Board decided to table the assignment to the District Committees, which cover the day-to-day operation of the district, as discussion regarding whether certain committees are relevant was recommended by Laub.

The Board then recessed into executive session to discuss evaluations of the Superintendent and Treasurer and to consider the appointment of a public employee or official.
The next regularly scheduled Board of Education Meeting will take place on Thursday, February 15 at 5:30 p.m. at the NRHS Community Room.
