Area Veterans are invited to a special breakfast on Veterans Day. The North Royalton Family YMCA has partnered up with Ward 3 Councilman and United States Army Veteran, Dan Langshaw, to celebrate the service of the community’s veterans. All community’s veterans are invited to a Veteran’s Day Breakfast and Special Flag Dedication on November 11, at the North Royalton Family YMCA located at 11409 State Road in North Royalton. There will be a free continental breakfast sponsored by Councilman Langshaw from 9 to 11a.m. in the Spirit, Mind, and Body Room 125. During the breakfast, representatives from United States Senator Sherrod Brown’s office, United States Congressman Anthony Gonzalez, American Legion Post #703, and VFW Post #3345 will be present to provide information on VA healthcare, VA compensation, and other veteran’s benefits available.
At 9:30 a.m., a Special Flag Dedication Ceremony will take place near the gym. American Legion Post #703 Color Guard will lead things off with the posting of the Colors. Rev. Daniel Pina and United States Army Veteran from North Royalton Journey Church will give a blessing. United States Congressman Anthony Gonzalez (depending on his schedule) will give some key remarks to recognize the community’s veterans along with some other special guests in attendance.
Joe Burdick, a United States Navy Veteran and owner of Burdick Custom Flags, will officially unveil an artistic custom made wooden subdued green line American Flag that he is donating to the North Royalton Family YMCA, that will be on permanent display to honor the community’s veterans and their service. Joe’s artwork is nationally recognized. Some of his clients include A-List celebrities, professional athletes, elected officials, veterans, first responders, and charities. Veterans interested in attending are asked to please RVSP to Council Dan Langshaw at 440-785-4240 or ward3@northroyalton.org by November 9.
