Varsity baseball team wins District Final, heads to “Sweet 16”

The North Royalton Varsity Baseball team is heading back to the “Sweet 16” in the OHSAA Division One State Baseball Tournament. In an exciting District Final game on May 26, at Talty Field at Brookside Reservation, the Bears defeated Avon 5-4 in 11 innings. North Royalton will play Kenston High School in the Regional Semi-finals at Louisville High School in Stark County on Thursday, June 2. Seniors party at prom, graduate, and prepare for next phase of life

Big gold balloon 2022 numerals stood at least five feet high in the entrance to the North Royalton High School prom held this year at the Weymouth Country Club in Medina. It is the first prom in two years that has been held in the elegance of an indoor venue. The members of the senior class and their guests enjoyed an evening of dinner and dancing as their four-year high school adventure quickly draws to a close. City Council explores canine shock collars

City Council members are exploring the possibility of allowing the use of shock collars on dogs as a means of control when residents take them off of their property. This topic came up when a Kingston Way Drive resident addressed Council at the May 19 Council Safety Committee meeting. Bellarmine house fire causes significant damage

The North Royalton Fire Department was dispatched when a fire broke out on a house on Bellarmine Drive on Wednesday, May 11. Council looks to ban the ban on bags

The North Royalton City Council will be looking at legislation that would ban the Cuyahoga County ban on plastic bags. The measure was brought up by Ward 1 Council Representative John Nickell at the May 19 Council Building and Building Codes Committee. Smash and Grab incidents are increasing

Report of another smash and grab incident has taken place in North Royalton. This is the ninth incident reported since the beginning of the year. A smash and grab is a type of burglary that involves smashing a window or a showcase in a store, grabbing valuables, and then making a quick getaway, without being concerned for setting off alarms or creating noise. NRFD Safety Fair is both Fun and Educational

Saturday, May 14, was a great day for the Safety Fair. After two years of being put on hold, the Safety Fair, hosted by the North Royalton Fire Department, was back. Family groups of twos, and threes, fours and more swarmed the Fire Station to see the firefighting equipment, take pictures and take a look at the Ohio Fire Marshall burn site and see what a sprinkler system can do to prevent extensive damage.
