The first the organizational meeting of the North Royalton Board of Education took place on Monday, January 6.
The Board approved the following positions for 2025:
Board President, Jackie Arendt
Board Vice President, Lisa Shuck
The following are the 2025 dates for their regular/work session meetings: February 10, March 3, April 7, May 12, June 9, July 21, August 18, September 8, October 20, November 10 and December 15. Meetings begin at 4:30 p.m.
The following are the 2025 for their regular meetings a follows: February 13, March 6, April 10, May 15, June 12, June 26, July 24, August 21, September 11, October 23, November 13 and December 18. Meeting begin at 5:30 p.m.
The Board approved Squire Patton Boggs, The Riley Law Firm, Ennis Britton Co., L.P.A. and Gingo and Bair Law LLC, for legal counsel representation, on an as-needed basis, for the 2025 calendar year.
The first regularly scheduled meeting of 2025 took place on Thursday, January 9.
The Board adopted the Fiscal Year 2024-25 Tax Budget. It then approved the following appropriation adjustment: 022-District Agency, from $29,601.19 to $38,734.1.
The Board acknowledged the retirement of Sharon Lipp and then accepted the following resignation/retirement:

School Superintendent, Mike Laub, proclaimed January as School Board Recognition Month.
The Board authorized Summer School and Safety Town for the summer of 2025
The Board authorized an oil and gas lease amendment and ratification with EOS Energy, LLC and payment not to exceed $10,000.00. The North Royalton School District leases the Valley Vista oil and mineral rights to EOS Energy. A developer will not purchase the property with the lease. EOS Energy will release its right to drill on the portion of the property that is to be redeveloped for the payment of $10,000.00.
The Board authorized the renovation of the Middle School kitchen and procure the improvements, abiding by the Ohio Revised Code, in and amount not to exceed $1,300,000.00.
The Board approved an agreement with Wraparound Experts, LLC for substitute psychologist services for the 2025-26 school year.
The Board accepted and acknowledged the following gifts/donations:
“The Meaden Family Ukrainian Church in Hinckley donated $621 for the eighth-grade trip to Washington, D.C.”
