As with every spring, the city turns its sight to maintenance of the road infrastructure. This year is no different, with the 2026 Road Maintenance Program. Every year, the city develops a plan of the roads that are in the most need and sets a budget to complete those projects. Motorists might want to take note, as a change in travel plans may be in order.
At the February 3 Streets Committee meeting, then-North Royalton Service Director Nick Cinquepalmi stated that the Road program was going out to bid, with bid openings taking place on February 24. At the March 3 Council meeting, the bid of JD Striping and Services, Incorporated was approved for the 2026 Road Maintenance Program as the lowest and best bid, for an amount not to exceed $105,070.80. The bid of Konstruction King, Incorporated for concrete repairs, was adopted as the lowest and best bid, as well as Crossroads Asphalt Recycling, Incorporated, for equipment and general pavement services.
This year, the city has budgeted $1,957,000, according to North Royalton Finance Director Jenny Esarey. The following is the 2026 Road Maintenance list:
Concrete Replacement (complete replacement)
Timber Ridge Estates: Lakeview Court, Rainbow Lane, Valleyview Trail, Yvonne Drive.
Concrete Repairs (small areas of slab and joint repairs)
Pinestream Subdivision:
Hedgebrook Drive, Waterbridge Drive, Watercrest Drive.
Timberlane Estates:
Sawgrass Circle
Camelot Estates:
Lancelot Lane West
Asphalt Overlay
Bunker Estates: Oakwood Lane, Woodside Drive, Greenwood Road, Greenwood Oval, Pine Hill Court, Bunker Court, Bunker Road (from 4540 to Greenwood Road), Oakridge Drive (from 4191 to Greenwood Road).
Perlbrook Subdivision: Perl Court, Stuart Court, Elaine Drive, Dales Court, Reckman Court, Helen Drive,
Last year, the City had budgeted $1,861,733 for road reconstruction. Of the total, $680,955 was set for the estimated total cost of paving Akins Road and $950,000 for the estimated total cost for paving Abbey Road, which was done when the sewer work is completed. Also included, was $160,00 for asphalt and concrete repairs, done by the city’s Service Department. An additional $255,000 was budgeted for these expenditures.
