With the school year underway, new Supt. Jeff Cicerchi said he is “working in a great community with great kids and great families and a community that supports its schools.”
Cicerchi brings a wealth of experience to the district most recently serving as Director of Secondary Curriculum and Instruction. Prior he served as assistant principal and principal at North Royalton Middle School completing a one-year internship in administration. His teaching experience includes teaching sixth grade English Language Arts, social studies and reading at the Middle School and coaching baseball. He began his education career teaching Language Arts at Riverside Local Schools in Painesville.
As superintendent, Cicerchi wears many hats overseeing the various operations of the school district including transportation, food services, buildings and grounds, staffing, finances and curriculum.
When asked how he oversees so many different operations, Cicerchi replied, “I strive to be visible and accessible to everyone. I don’t stay in my office and I am in the buildings every day. The key is to be an active listener and build positive relations and trust.”
Cicerchi said he has never looked at his job as a role but “as a lifestyle.”
“This is not an 8-3 job, it is every day, all day, every week.” he said. “I embrace this job and enjoy going to all the district’s festivities such as band competitions and athletic events. What makes it more special is that my children go to this district as well.”
Cicerchi and his wife, Steff, who is the current Director of Secondary Curriculum and Instruction, have twins in 5th grade and a 6th grader. He and his wife have coached their sports teams as well. Combine his roles as superintendent, dad and husband, Cicerchi said; “We are always on the go.”
“We have three beautiful school buildings which serve our students well,” said Cicerchi. “Our schools are built for today’s learners. Our North Royalton School District is one we can be proud of.”
