The North Royalton Board of Education’s monthly School Board meeting took place on  Thursday, February 12. Assistant Superintendent, Melissa Vojta reported on a teaching and learning update. The Board approved the following 2025-26 appropriation adjustments: Fund 300 District Managed Student Activity Fund, from $630,000 to $680,000; Fund  516-9026 IDEA-B Fund from  $1,185,800.67 to $1,185,766.90; Fund 551-9026 Title III Language from $47,940.51 to $48,123.97; Fund 572-9026 Title I-A from $416,439.61 to $418,758.90; Fund 587-9026 Early Childhood from $23,200.55 to $23,205.18; Fund 590-902 ....

City Planning on Solution for Salt Shortages

North Royalton Service Director, Nick Cinquepalmi addressed City Council at the Council’s February 3 Streets Committee meeting regarding a solution to the City’s recent salt shortage problems.  Mayor Larry Antoskiewicz has directed Cinquepalmi to put together a plan for a brand new salt barn to house additional amounts of salt.  This plan will help alleviate problems the city has experienced this winter season, due to shortages from Cargill Salt. City awarded grant for Rt. 82 widening

The widening of Route 82 is again at the forefront.  City administrators recently reported that the city has been awarded a grant that would be put toward the funding of Phase II of the project. The overall aim of the Rt. 82 Widening Project converts Royalton Road, which runs east/west through North Royalton, from a two lane road to a three lane road, with 6 foot sidewalks and 7 foot tree lawns on each side. Area communities deal with winter weather challenges

These past few weeks have been quite a challenge, with below temperatures, increasing snow accumulations and problems with travel, due to salt shortages. Winter Storm Fern hit the area January 24-26.  According to the National Weather Service: Saturday, January 24, no measurable snow, but temperatures dipping to -11 and wind chill to -14. Sunday, January 25, about ten inches of snow fell, with winds gusting to 17 miles per hour.
