City holding its own despite COVID pressures
The City of North Royalton continues to hold its own financially, despite the impact of the pandemic. North Royalton Finance Director Eric Dean recently reported to the North Royalton City Council Finance Committee, updating them on the city’s status. Council eyes food truck rules
City Council has been discussing how it deals with the use of food trucks within the city limits. The topic was initially broached at the Council’s Building and Building Codes Committee meeting in July. They have continued the conversation at the September meeting. Council discusses dollar store moratorium
North Royalton City Council has discussed placing a moratorium on discount retailers, such as “dollar stores” in the city’s Town Center District (TCD). Generally, that area is located between Royalwood Road and Royalton Roads to the north and south, and State Road and Ridge Road to the east and west. NOPEC grant would bring Electric Charging Station
City officials are applying for a grant that would allow for the installation of an electric car charging station. The grant would be supplied by the Northeast Ohio Public Energy Council (NOPEC) in an effort to support electric vehicle-charging infrastructure. Although it is not known how many North Royalton residents own electric cars, North Royalton Community Development Director Tom Jordan said that the overall demographic of North Royalton fits that of people who would purchase an electric vehicle. North Royalton Garden Club to dedicate two new memorial markers on Sun., Sept. 27, at 10 a.m.
The North Royalton Garden Club will be dedicating two new memorial markers at the Veterans Memorial site at the North Royalton Cemetery on Sunday, September 27, at 10 a.m. The Blue Star Memorial is a tribute to Armed Forces who have defended the United States of America. These memorials were started by National Garden Clubs at the close of World War II. Garden Club members visualized a living memorial, preferring to help beautify and preserve the country these men and women had fought for, rather than build stone monuments in their honor.
