The Cuyahoga County Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) is warning residents about scams surrounding COVID-19. “People should exercise caution in handling any email with a Coronavirus/COVID-19-related subject line, attachment, or hyperlink, and be wary of social media pleas, texts, or calls related to COVID-19,” said DCA officials. “Local and federal IT security specialists have already reported malware-laden COVID-19 spam. North Royalton resident pleads guilty in police attack
A 58-year-old North Royalton man was indicted after he allegedly attacked a North Royalton Police officer. He was arrested on August 18. John Pugnea pleaded guilty to Felonious Assault on a Peace Officer and three counts of Aggravated Menacing. According to North Royalton Police Reports, a resident reported that he was threatened by another motorist after a driving altercation. The driver called police during the altercation, reporting the license plate number.
