The wheels are turning for a group of residents interested in forming a local chapter of Bike Cleveland, an advocacy group promoting bicycling and safe transportation. Resident and cyclist Chris Brasdovich led a meeting last week at the North Royalton Branch of Cuyahoga County Public Library to introduce his focus, exchange ideas with those gathered and discuss what it takes to sign on with Bike Cleveland. New legislation reduces deer damage permit fee
The North Royalton City Council unanimously adopted legislation at their March 3 meeting which will cut the Municipal Deer Damage Control Permit fee in half. Previously, the fee was $150 and thought by many to be too high, prohibiting hunters to participate in the program. As in previous years, Police Chief Ken Bilinovich gave City Council an update on the 2019 deer season statistics at the January meeting of the Council Safety Committee. Council passes 2020 $44 million budget
The North Royalton City Council adopted the city’s 2020 budget at their March 3 meeting. Although Council has until March 31 to adopt the city’s budget, City Council has, in the past few years, adopted it before year’s end. This year, however, since there is a new Mayor and a new Council President and most City Council members, it was pushed into 2020, so all the new members could discuss and decide. “It’s the first time Council did it on this timetable,” said Council President Paul Marnecheck. City to join State in Stake Against Opioid Lawsuit
City Council unanimously adopted legislation at its March 3 meeting that would join the State of Ohio to seek restitution for the opioid problem.
