Hard-working soccer player heading to Ashland University

The final National Letter of Intent Signing Day for the 2018-19 school year on April 17, produced another North Royalton student athlete who is taking his game to the next level. Before family and friends in the North Royalton High School gym, boys’ soccer player A.J. Lozinak signed his letter to attend and play soccer at Ashland University. NRFD Open House and Safety Fair set for Sat., May 18

North Royalton Fire Department will hold the 23rd Annual Open House & Safety Fair on Saturday, May 18, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at North Royalton Fire Department, Station #1, 7000 Royalton Road. The Safety Fair will kick off National EMS week and include several special exhibits pertaining to safety issues relating to children and adults. It’s a great event with lots to see and do. Electronic email fraud becoming commonplace

At the latest Mayor’s Breakfast, Jim English, Vice President of Treasury Management, from F.N.B. Corporation’s First National Bank, gave a presentation regarding fraud prevention. Mayor Bob Stefanik noted that ten to fifteen years ago fraud was not as prevalent as it is today, but with technology, fraud is much more commonplace. English talked about check and electronic fraud on business account transactions. Some of his recommendations for avoiding fraud also work for personal accounts as well. City water main work added to construction projects

In addition to all the road construction going on this year, two water main replacement projects will also take place. One project will tie up a part of State Road; the other a section of Royalton Road. The first project has already begun. The State Road project is replacing a section on State Road from Castle Drive to Sprague Road. The second project, which has been in the works for several years, will affect Royalton Road from State Road to Prince Charles, which is phase two of a project that was started in 2016.
