LADY BEARS ADVANCE TO REGIONAL SEMI-FINALS
The improbable tournament run by the North Royalton Girls Soccer team continued on Thursday night. In the Parma District Finals played at Nordonia High School, the Lady Bears defeated Berea-Midpark 2-0 to advance to the regional semi-finals. North Royalton got second-half goals by Lauren Kotlyn and Laci Buffa to put the game away. In the State Tournament, North Royalton has won three straight games, all by shutout. The Lady Bears next game is Tuesday, October 30, against Strongsville at Strongsville. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. Way to go, Lady Bears!!

The North Royalton Board of Education held their October meeting on Monday, October 8. Melissa Vojta, Director of Curriculum, gave a presentation of the school district’s report card. Royal Redeemer members extend a helping hand to those in need on Servant Saturday
Saturday, October 6, was Servant Saturday, a day when 380 members of Royal Redeemer Lutheran Church showed that they were the hands and feet of God. Volunteers with their cleaning supplies, rakes, shovels and the like, tackled 40 projects here in North Royalton and throughout the area. Some of the locations where volunteers helped out were area nursing homes, Habitat for Humanity, the Cleveland Pregnancy Center, the Brunswick Family Center, and the Second Mile Thrift Store in Berea, the Parma Animal Shelter and the Gardenview Horticultural Park. Upgrades coming to City Green next spring
The upgrading of the City Green will start with the recent approval of the North Royalton City Council’s legislation that accepts the lowest and best bid for electrical improvement. Out of four bidders, Council approved the bid of D.E. Williams Electric, Incorporated for a bid not to exceed $166,020.00. Earlier this year, the city hired an electrical engineer, who designed the electrical improvements with the goal of savings and improved safety.
