Saint Albert the Great will embark on a new journey with Church of the Assumption and its parish school Assumption Academy in Broadview Heights. At the city level, the Office on Aging & Human Services has teamed up with Royal Redeemer Lutheran Church and Saint Albert the Great Church for the Adopt a Family program providing Christmas gift donations from church parishioners, private individuals and residents, local businesses and civic groups. This holiday season, approximately 51 families and nearly 130 children will be helped by the program, said Debra Burrows, outreach specialist for the Office on Aging & Human Services. Three NR athletes sign Letters of Intent
On November 15, three North Royalton Student-Athletes signed National Letters of Intent to play their sport next year in college. Two of the three athletes signed to play at NCAA Division One Schools. The three are senior swimmer Sarah Turchanik, who will attend The Ohio State University. Senior volleyball player Anna Kirkke, who will attend Ashland University in 2019. And senior basketball player Taiyier Parks, who will be on the court for the Michigan State Spartans. Retiring school assistant superintendent hopes to regain same position in early 2019
The North Royalton City Schools’ Assistant Superintendent Jim Presot is set to retire at the end of this year. His current contract was set to expire July 31, 2019. The Board of Education will be voting on whether to offer a new contract to Presot early next year. According to Ohio law, the North Royalton School District posted a Legal Notice on November 8, stating that James J. Presot, currently employed as the assistant superintendent, will be retired and seeking re-employment with the district in the same position, following his retirement.
