Royalton Place, the 33-acre senior development that was proposed by Gross Builders is now becoming a fixture at the corner of Rt. 82 and York Road. Every two years, the President of Council assigns the various Council committees to each City Council member. It is his duty to assign the Council Committees of Buildings and Building Codes; Finance; Review and Oversight; Rules and Ordinances; Safety; Streets; Storm Water and Utilities. All committees meet monthly, with the exception of the Review and Oversight Committee, which meets when needed. Chamber marks 100 years of service! A Look Back
The North Royalton’s very young Chamber of Commerce, called the Committee of Improvement, got busy with their first order of business, the placement of street signs. The first street sign was on Ridge and Royalton Roads. The Committee Board members consisted of President Mr. C.E. McCombs, who later became the first mayor, Vice President Mr. B. J. Gortner, and Secretary Mr. Annis. Under their guidance electricity was brought to the growing township. Celebrations planned for City’s and Chamber's BIG years!
The year 2018 will be a banner year for the city of North Royalton, as it celebrates its bicentennial. Plans are being finalized for the festivities, which will start this summer. Mayor Bob Stefanik said that plans are currently being finalized. “We wanted to mark the occasion without going over the top,” he said. The North Royalton Chamber of Commerce will also be celebrating this year, as they have been in existence for one hundred years.
