1991 - Cobblestone Mall got a new tenant for 1991. John Ribich opened Royal Plaza Shoe and Leather Repair. Royal Plaza Shoe and Leather Repair offered a wide range of services including: sole replacement, all luggage and golf bags repaired, and high heels lowered for greater comfort. Early in the year St. Matthew the Evangelist Orthodox Church settled in North Royalton. St. Matthew’s is part of the Orthodox Church that has a history going back 2000 years to Syria and is part of the Antiochian Diocese in Syria. School Board takes first step toward bond issue

The North Royalton Board of Education voted on a resolution that will ultimately place a bond issue on the November ballot. On Wednesday, June 15, the Board voted unanimously on a resolution of necessity to place the measure on the November 8 ballot. This comes after two meetings on June 6 and June 9, where they discussed the recent community survey on the proposed facilities plan. City Council adopts deer hunting ordinance

Two ordinances pertaining to the hunting of white tailed deer by bow hunting in North Royalton, introduced at the May 3 City Council meeting, were unanimously adopted at the June 7 meeting. This follows the passage of the measure at the March 15 Primary, where six communities all passed the measure. Broadview Heights, Parma, Parma Heights, Seven Hills and Strongsville joined North Royalton, in an effort to address the deer population problem on a more regional level. Cyber criminals targeting small business and home computers

Members of the Chamber of Commerce learned more about how to protect themselves and their businesses from cyber attacks and breaches at their monthly luncheon meeting at Carrie Cerino’s Ristorante. A presentation was given by Janet Gehring and Jim Kerr, owner of CRU Solutions, based in Middleburg Heights. Kerr began the presentation, stating that “work used to be a place you go to.
