Antennas would fill cell phone coverage gaps

The North Royalton City Council adopted legislation 6-0 at its July 19 meeting, issuing a cell phone tower antenna moratorium. Council President Larry Antoskiewicz affirmed the vote, as well as Ward 1 Councilman John Nickell, Ward 2 Councilman Gary Petrusky, Ward 3 Councilman Dan Langshaw, Ward 4 Councilman Paul Marnecheck and Ward 6 Councilman Dan Kasaris. In order to fill coverage gaps in dead spots, cell phone companies have begun placing antennas on utility poles in order to act as a booster. Superior NRHS marching band never fails to amaze

The date is Thursday, August 5, and band camp has begun. Two hundred eighty seven North Royalton Marching Band members take the field for the first time this year. They have been practicing the music since June. They have been learning the marching instructions since – yesterday. Director of Bands, Dave Vitale, a 1998 graduate of North Royalton, conducts the band from the roof top of the high school. Community Garden takes blue ribbon at County Fair

The North Royalton Community Garden represented North Royalton well at the 120th annual Cuyahoga County Fair, which took place from August 8 - 14, with the award of a blue ribbon for their display. The Cuyahoga County Fair has been an annual event since 1893, except for 1932, with the depression and 1942-43, during World War II. Each year the event has been held at the 117-acre Fairgrounds in Berea. In the beginning, the event was held in the fall, when the farmers where done with their crops. Rookies star under the lights

The “Little League” season for the North Royalton Baseball Boosters is coming to an end. While some teams are involved in the playoffs, the 5-and-6 year old league, known as ‘‘the Rookies,” brought their season to a close in a unique way. Instead of playing the final game on one of the two fields in the middle of the York Road complex, the eight teams got to play under the lights at Diamonds #4 and 5.
