Council passes 2023 budget

Over the past several years, the budget discussions with city administrators and Council began in the fall of the previous year. Last year, however, the timeline shifted to the beginning of 2020 in order to allow for the new Mayor and Council to have input. This year, the timeline was changed back to the fall. City/Schools agree on new Memorial Park field lease
North Royalton City Council unanimously adopted legislation that will forge a new lease between the City and the North Royalton City School District for rights of the joint use and access of a portion of Memorial Park on State Road. This agreement is in addition to separate lease agreements in place for the tennis courts and basketball courts at Memorial Park. The City owns the Memorial Park property and the School District’s High School and Middle School property adjoins Memorial Park. Portions of the baseball and softball fields straddle both properties. North Royalton High School bands finish 2022 on a Superior note
During the last few months, the North Royalton High School Band has been hard at work. They concluded their marching band season performing at the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) State Finals in Columbus, where they received a superior rating. This huge accomplishment is the result of months of practice to get their show titled “Carpe Diem” to the best level - and earning the highest rating possible from the panel of adjudicators. First Responders complete training event
For those in the area of the North Royalton Elementary School who were wondering what the commotion was about during the holiday break, they can rest, assured that it was nothing terrible. NRPD completes lease of ten traffic cameras
North Royalton City Council has approved the lease of the Flock cameras at their December 20 meeting. Council introduced the legislation at its December 6 meeting to allow for the lease and installation of ten surveillance cameras. The ordinance was adopted six to one, introduced by Ward 6 Council Mike Wos and Ward 4 Council Jeremy Dietrich and co-sponsored by Ward 1 Council Rep John Nickell, authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with Flock Safety for cameras, installation and services for the North Royalton Police Department, for an amount not to exceed $28,500.00.
