The September meeting of the North Royalton Board of Education took place on September 12. The Board approved the 2022-23 appropriation adjustments. The Board approved the following transfers: 401-9022 Auxiliary Services - St. Albert to 401-9023 Auxiliary Services - St. Albert’s, $28,823.87; 401-9022 Auxiliary Services - Royal Redeemer to 401-9023 Auxiliary Services - Royal Redeemer, $13,578.33. Good healthy info and fun at Health Fair & Family Expo

The weather was perfect for the annual Health Fair & Family Expo with the 5K Bear run and one-mile Wellness Walk on September 10. Runners gathered around the starting arch waiting for the official and timed start of the 5K. Age groups for the race went from 10 and under to 70 and older. Check in was 8 – 9 a.m. for an entry packet and a T-shirt. There were some people who walked in and signed up on the spot. Fundraiser aids RhizoKids awareness and research

RhizoKids Ohio, Night at the Races 2022, Kickin’ It for a Cure is back on Saturday, October 8, from 6 to 11 p.m. at St. Adalbert Keller Hall, 66 Adalbert Street in Berea. Enjoy an evening of action-packed horse-racing excitement with appetizers, dinner, dessert, free beer, wine & soda. There will be raffles, a silent auction, 50/50, and great fun for those trying their luck for a Big Win (18 years+), all for $75 per person. Harvest Fest canceled, will be part of Halloween Madness

Mayor Larry Antoskiewicz recently announced that the annual Harvest Festival that was scheduled for Sunday, September 18, has been canceled. He added that the Halloween Madness event, scheduled for Saturday, October 22, will not only go on, but be enhanced with some of the events that would have been included with the Harvest Fest. The Harvest Fest has taken place for many years, sponsored by the Holiday Lighting Committee. The event started as a fund-raiser to help pay for the holiday lights on the City Green. November election will have GOP write-in candidate

Although Republican voters in North Royalton did not have a candidate for an Ohio House Representative to vote for in the August 2 primary, they will have an opportunity to elect a Republican candidate come November 8. The only catch is that they will have to remember the name of the candidate, write it in and fill in the little oval on the left. North Royalton resident and attorney Nicholas E. Phillips (Nick Phillips) has thrown his hat in the ring for the position of Ohio House Representative.
