Lent is upon us and with Lent come Fish Fries. Many of the favorite watering holes and social organizations add Fish Fries to their regular menus or have a special Friday meals for pick up or dine in. Local churches like St. Albert the Great and Church of the Assumption also offer Fish Fry dinners. Revival of North Royalton Safety Town in the works
City and School officials have been discussing the future of a new and improved Safety Town program for North Royalton children. It’s an offering that has been made available to children for many years through the work of the North Royalton School District and the North Royalton Police and Fire Departments. Although road construction season is not at full tilt quite yet, the City continues to try to keep up with the degradation the miles of roads faced with the continual freeze and thaw cycle that plagues northeast Ohio. City looking for input on Bennett Road path
North Royalton’s Engineering Department is looking for input from residents regarding the continuance of the Bennett Road path that currently runs from Royalton Road, south to South Akins Road. The proposed project will extend the path/sidewalk on that western side of Bennett Road, from South Akins Road, south, connecting it to Valley Parkway. The original portion of the path was installed when Bennett Road was reconstructed in 2012. Plans are being made to purchase license plate reading cameras that will surveil fifteen areas around North Royalton, according to Mayor Larry Antoskiewicz. The North Royalton City Council again discussed the measure at its February 15 Safety Committee Meeting. “It will help our department,” said Antoskiewicz, “almost like putting another set of eyes.
