Up until this year, I thought I had trick-or-treated in every situation imaginable, both as a child and most recently as a mom of three. I’ve seen everything from freak snowstorms to torrential downpours to frigid cold to summer-like temperatures that left me sweating off my face paint as I ran through yards and mulched beds with friends (my apologies to those living in Sherwood Highlands from 1991-2002). City holding its own despite COVID pressures
The City of North Royalton continues to hold its own financially, despite the impact of the pandemic. North Royalton Finance Director Eric Dean recently reported to the North Royalton City Council Finance Committee, updating them on the city’s status. According to Dean, there was a $62,231 increase in tax collections for August. Year-to-date, however, he said that it was down, $474,000. Council eyes food truck rules
City Council has been discussing how it deals with the use of food trucks within the city limits. The topic was initially broached at the Council’s Building and Building Codes Committee meeting in July. They have continued the conversation at the September meeting. North Royalton Community Development Director, Tom Jordan initially addressed City Council on the topic in July, saying that he had the Law, Building, and Fire dpartments look into it. Council discusses dollar store moratorium
North Royalton City Council has discussed placing a moratorium on discount retailers, such as “dollar stores” in the city’s Town Center District (TCD). Generally, that area is located between Royalwood Road and Royalton Roads to the north and south, and State Road and Ridge Road to the east and west. NOPEC grant would bring Electric Charging Station
City officials are applying for a grant that would allow for the installation of an electric car charging station. The grant would be supplied by the Northeast Ohio Public Energy Council (NOPEC) in an effort to support electric vehicle-charging infrastructure. Although it is not known how many North Royalton residents own electric cars, North Royalton Community Development Director Tom Jordan said that the overall demographic of North Royalton fits that of people who would purchase an electric vehicle.
