The March meeting of the North Royalton Board of Education took place on Wednesday, March 13. Board member Lisa Shuck was absent.
The Board nominated Jackie Arendt for the Ohio School Board Association’s Recognition Award.
Assistant Superintendent, Melissa Vojta gave an update from the Curriculum and Instruction and Teaching and Learning Team on the K-12 curriculum alignment.
The Board approved the all-day kindergarten fees for the 2024-25 school year at $2,500 per year, which is the same as the previous year.
The Board approved the following appropriation adjustments: from 001-General Fund to 950A-Athletics in the amount of $65,000 to cover expenses for the 2023-24 fiscal year.
The Board approved a resolution to authorize filing of Board of Revisions complaint against Abbey Road Business Park & Self Storage, LLC., regarding the determination of the total valuation or assessment of the parcel. The property is valued at $3,533,400 and recently sold for $9,875,000.
The Board approved a resolution to authorize filing a Board of Revisions complaint against R. J. Realty Associates, LP, regarding the determination of total valuation or assessment of the parcel. The property is valued at $1,038,500 and recently sold for $1,585,000.
The Board recognized the retirement of Dale Dengerd and Sandra Stergios. They also accepted the following resignations and retirements:

The Board approved the policy updates from North East Ohio Learning Associates (NEOLA) Volume 42 Number 1, as well as policy 5771.
The Board proclaimed March as Middle Level Education Month, “for educating young adolescents between the ages of 10 and 15 (grades 5-9) that are undergoing rapid and dramatic changes in their physical, intellectual, social, emotional and moral development.”
The Board approved a career and professional development partnership with Baldwin Wallace University MAEd Program.
The Board approved a service agreement with Northwest Group Services, Incorporated for benefit enrollment, COBRA administration and flexible benefits administration, effective April 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024.
The Board approved services with LLA Therapy for the Stars and Stripes Summer Camp for the special education ESY programs and services for summer, 2024.
The Board approved an agreement with Education Alternatives for education programs for students, as needed, for the 2023-24 school year.
The Board accepted and acknowledged the following gifts/donations:
The Strazzo family of North Royalton donated $600 to North Royalton Middle School for the Washington, D.C. trip.
The next regular meeting will be held on Thursday, April 11, at 5:30 p.m. at the North Royalton High School Community Room.
