Calling all pet owners, the 18th Annual Pet Carnival will be held on Sunday, July 27, from 1 – 4 p.m. on the City Green. It is a howling-good time, sponsored by Dr. Adam Hechko and staff at the North Royalton Animal Hospital and Paws at Play Pet Resort. This yearly pet-friendly event strengthens the commitment between North Royalton Animal Hospital and the greater community of pet owners and all of our wonderful pets.
The annual pet carnival offers all kinds of activities for pets and people. This year is no exception. It’s a community celebration of pets and good pet care. There will be airbrush tattoos, vendors, balloon magic, DJ, snacks, dog and kid games, a dog agility course, photo opportunities, and much more. There will also be a silent auction. The proceeds of the auction go to support Molly’s Mission, a 501(c)(3) charity that helps provide quality care that pet owners may not be able to afford, especially if the pet has serious health problems, “turning heartbreak into hope, one family at a time.” Besides the serious reasons behind Molly’s mission, there is lots of fun too.
For everyone’s safety, all dogs, cats, rabbits, and other pets must be on a leash. Sometimes pets get startled and react inappropriately; that is why the owners are always there to hold the leash and keep pets safe and calm. Dogs are able to greet other dogs and their owners as they walk proudly from booth to booth showing off their best manners and handsome grooming, while their owners learn about training, boarding, nutrition, and dog mental health. Yes, even pets need healthy body and mind exercise.
The agility course is especially popular. It keeps dogs mentally sharp and engaged. These skills are so important that Dr. Hechko donated the dog agility equipment for the Metropark’s Aukerman Park, a leash required, dog friendly facility located on York Road just before the Parkway. Aukerman Park is open and free to the whole community year-round. All pet friendly pets on leashes are welcome. For more information about donating or participating, please contact North Royalton Animal Hospital at 440-237-7691, or text 440-328-8993. North Royalton Animal Hospital is located at 9027 Ridge Road North Royalton.
