Five NRHS athletes sign national letters of intent

Wednesday, February 7, was a day that five North Royalton seniors will remember for a very long time. The five signed their National Letters of Intent to continue playing their high school sports at the collegiate level. The five join four other North Royalton High School Seniors who signed National Letters of Intent in the fall. Of the five who signed earlier this month, four were members of the North Royalton girls’ soccer team. The other played on the Bears football team. NRMS fifth graders show off projects at “Space Night”

North Royalton Middle School fifth-graders had the chance to show off their work to parents, as well as the entire fifth-grade community when they showcased their “Space Night” projects. All fifth graders were assigned a project dealing with space. They were given 12 different options to choose from to match their specific talent. These options included technology, art, creativity, writing, and singing among others. Senior citizen development proposal must first meet voters’ approval

North Royalton voters will have an opportunity to vote on the question of rezoning several parcels from R1A Residential zoning to SCD Senior Center District zoning. The property in question is located on the north border of North Royalton, on Sprague Road, just west of State Road. Council recently approved the measure to be placed on the May 8 ballot, after a public meeting in front of the city’s Planning Commission. Bockelman Sisters suit up for the Lady Bears

If you take a quick look at the North Royalton Lady Bears Roster for this season, you’ll notice not one, not two, but three sisters from the Bockelman family on the varsity roster. Having brothers or sisters playing on the same team is common. But, in this case, having three sisters playing on the same high school team is unusual and special. Number 55 Sara Bockelman is a senior and stands 6-feet-1-inch tall. Keith Hawkins, one of North America’s top youth speakers, presented to North Royalton Middle School (NRMS) on Tuesday, January 23. The presentation was entitled, “Leaving Footprints in the Lives of the Human Race.” The goal of the presentation was to help students build meaningful relationships with each other. Bitter cold does not hamper construction progress

It’s not even Spring, yet some major construction projects around the city are either in full swing, or are in the works to start soon. Three projects are in the mid and southwest section of the city. Council President makes Committee Assignments

Every two years, the President of Council assigns the various Council committees to each City Council member. It is his duty to assign the Council Committees of Buildings and Building Codes; Finance; Review and Oversight; Rules and Ordinances; Safety; Streets; Storm Water and Utilities.
