Farm Tour with Concert and Harvest Fest promise residents two days of good old-fashioned fun

The 14th Annual Harvest Fest is taking on a different twist this year. The celebration will be spread out over two days Saturday. September 24, and Sunday, September 25. North Royalton residents are being encouraged to check out and support what Mayor Bob Stefanik is calling the “hidden gems” of the city. Those “hidden gems” making up the farm tour are the local farms/farmers markets that bring fresh fruits and vegetables from their fields to your kitchen table. Coberly leads Bears on and off the gridiron

North Royalton Bears senior tight end/defensive end Nick Coberly can be easily found when on the football field. At 6-ft., 4-in., 195 pounds, Coberly towers over smaller defensive backs who try to guard him on pass plays. On defense, Nick plays at the end of the defensive line, either side. City studies state’s new medical marijuana law

On June 8, Ohio Governor John Kasich signed House Bill 523 into law, making Ohio the 25th state to adopt a medical marijuana law. With that, local communities have been placing a moratorium on that law, in order to review it and see how it may impact their communities. North Royalton Mayor Bob Stefanik recently said that North Royalton will do the same, and introduce a measure that would place a moratorium on the bill, in order to allow city leaders and the city’s law department, opportune time to research the bill and its potential impact on the city. New school district theme announced to kick off beginning of new school year

The North Royalton High School football season begins on Friday night, August 26, at Serpentini Chevrolet Stadium against North Ridgeville. Antennas would fill cell phone coverage gaps

The North Royalton City Council adopted legislation 6-0 at its July 19 meeting, issuing a cell phone tower antenna moratorium. Council President Larry Antoskiewicz affirmed the vote, as well as Ward 1 Councilman John Nickell, Ward 2 Councilman Gary Petrusky, Ward 3 Councilman Dan Langshaw, Ward 4 Councilman Paul Marnecheck and Ward 6 Councilman Dan Kasaris. In order to fill coverage gaps in dead spots, cell phone companies have begun placing antennas on utility poles in order to act as a booster. Superior NRHS marching band never fails to amaze

The date is Thursday, August 5, and band camp has begun. Two hundred eighty seven North Royalton Marching Band members take the field for the first time this year. They have been practicing the music since June. They have been learning the marching instructions since – yesterday. Director of Bands, Dave Vitale, a 1998 graduate of North Royalton, conducts the band from the roof top of the high school. Community Garden takes blue ribbon at County Fair

The North Royalton Community Garden represented North Royalton well at the 120th annual Cuyahoga County Fair, which took place from August 8 - 14, with the award of a blue ribbon for their display. The Cuyahoga County Fair has been an annual event since 1893, except for 1932, with the depression and 1942-43, during World War II. Each year the event has been held at the 117-acre Fairgrounds in Berea. In the beginning, the event was held in the fall, when the farmers where done with their crops.
