Kent Corp breaks ground for major expansion

Members of the North Royalton Chamber of Commerce and City Officials joined CEO of Kent Corporation, Dean Costello, as they broke ground on the company’s upcoming expansion. The addition will add 22,000 square feet to the existing facility. Kent Corporation designs and manufactures steel processing equipment. Furry friends to take over City Green for annual Pet Carnival

A parade of leashed canines and their devoted owners are preparing to come to the City Green, visiting with vendors, enjoying refreshments, and participating in pet-friendly activities as part of the 17th annual Pet Carnival, sponsored by the North Royalton Animal Hospital and Paws At Play Resort and Daycare. New Senior Center project bids tossed

The North Royalton City Council adopted legislation that rejects the bids for the Senior Center project, which were opened earlier this month. According to Mayor Larry Antoskiewicz, all bids received for the project exceed the 20% allotment for the project and had to be tossed out, according to state law. Three bids were received. Last October 3, representatives from Makovich and Pusti Architects gave a preliminary presentation to City Council regarding the potential of the upcoming Senior Center and where they are in the design process. Elek Springs Property Project to move forward

The next step in the development of the Elek Springs property project is expected to take place soon. The City of North Royalton and the Cleveland Metroparks have joined to provide this recreational opportunity for local residents. Elek Springs is located near the area of Royalton and Bennett Roads. In 2008, the City purchased the 14.8 acre property, called the “Old A. Elek Spring property,” located south of Rt. 82, west of Bennett Road and north of Akins Road. This year, the city of North Royalton and the North Royalton Historical Society will participate in Wreaths Across America. Council makes changes in Tree Lawn Tree Rules

The North Royalton City Council adopted changes to the City’s ordinances regarding the removal and replacement of tree lawn trees. The measure was adopted after even more tweaking took place. Members of the North Royalton City Council have been discussing the changes since it was first discussed at the May 21 City Council Building and Building Codes Committee meeting. City hits Pause on Sewer Plant Transformation

New North Royalton Wastewater Superintendent, Ed Haller, addressed City Council at a recent Utilities Committee meeting regarding pausing part of the Abbey Road Sanitary Force Main and Gravity Sewer Improvement Projects. Council discusses changes in Tree Lawn Tree Rules

Members of the North Royalton City Council have been discussing making changes to the City’s ordinances regarding the removal and replacement of tree lawn trees. The measure was first discussed at the May 21 City Council Building and Building Codes Committee meeting. Despite the rainy weather on Memorial Day, North Royalton city officials, first responders and residents came to the North Royalton Cemetery at the City Green to pay tribute to the military members who sacrificed their lives in service to our country. Families enjoy and learn from Annual Safety Fair

The Annual Safety Fair began with cloudy skies over North Royalton, so the usual large crowds of families stayed in the large building that houses our North Royalton Fire Department, but Mayor Larry Antoskiewicz had ordered the clouds cleared by 10:45 a.m., and they were.
