NRHS MARCHING BAND MEMBERS STAR IN DISNEY PARADE

Band members discovered the magic of Disney as they performed for an audience of park guests at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World Resort, Florida during spring break, March 25 through March 29. Disney is home to plenty of stars, but the students shined as they marched down Main Street U.S.A. giving their best performance. Before the band headed to palm trees and sunshine, members attended mandatory practices to prepare. Their hard work paid off as they were in the spotlight of entertaining vacationers.

LOCAL FAMILY INVENTS BEHAVIOR BUDDY

“Eat your supper, brush your teeth, and clean up your toys.” If you have children, these are words you have spoken countless times. Getting young children to behave well can be a challenge. But thanks to one local family, help is on the way. The Harrison family, mom Tania, dad James, their seven-year-old daughter Symonne, and the family’s best friend, Julie Vaccarelli, are bringing a new patent-pending product to life, “Bear on the ChairTM,” a year-round behavior buddy.

CITY JOINT DISPATCH WITH STRONGSVILLE IS COMPLETE

On Saturday morning, March 22, residents of North Royalton experienced a change, although the change was not evident. That is when the complete transformation took place in the city of North Royalton’s Public Safety Dispatch and was consolidated with the city of Strongsville. The joining of the dispatch for these two cities will make a first in the southwest region of Cuyahoga County.

GRANT WILL FUND BENNETT ROAD REPAIRS

The City of North Royalton received some good news in the form of notification last week from the Cuyahoga County Department of Public Works that they will be eligible to receive for funding for the Bennet Road resurfacing project. The project would include the resurfacing of the southern section of Bennett Road, which runs from Edgerton Road, south to Bridgewater. The area encompasses about two miles of roadway. SENATE TO VOTE ON SNOW DAY EXTENSION

North Royalton School Superintendent might be the most beloved in recent history of the North Royalton Schools, as North Royalton School students got another snow day on February 18, when the city was pelted with another seven plus inches of snow. Once again, the North Royalton Schools had to call a calamity day, the fifth so far this year. “It’s always a difficult decision to make,” said Greg Gurka.
