NRCS’s Bus Driver ties for first place at State Road-E-O

North Royalton City Schools’ (NRCS) bus driver Bruce Abbott tied for first place at the state’s bus driver road-e-o on Saturday and is now qualified for the international competition this summer! Bruce Abbott placed fifth in the competition and qualified to go on to the state competition on Saturday, October 26. Wreaths Across America comes to North Royalton

The AT&T Pioneers Northeast Council is partnering with the city of North Royalton to participate in the Wreaths Across America this year, including the North Royalton Cemetery as one of the many locations participating across the United States. Earlier this year, the city of North Royalton got an email from Wreaths Across America to see if they might be interested in participating. Fire Department fire simulator teaches children fire safety

Sometimes all it takes to make something happen is to be in the right place at the right time. A project for the North Royalton Fire Department, one that has been a long time coming, got a boost when some other North Royalton residents and fire department employees, came together. Schools earn overall grade of “B” on State Report Card

The Ohio Department of Education (ODE) recently released the 2018-19 Local Report Card for all districts in the state of Ohio. The North Royalton Schools received an overall B grade on the annual state report card. The State Report Card is one way to measure our educational system,” said Superintendent Greg Gurka. Traffic congestion today equals smooth roads ahead

The area around State and Royalton Roads has been a traffic mess, especially over the past few weeks. It started earlier this summer, when the Royalton Road Water Main Replacement Project began. Recent developments of two other projects in the area have upped the traffic ante and have made things more congested. However, there is good news on the horizon. On October 7, North Royalton High School (NRHS) inducted the newest members into their National Honor Society (NHS). The ceremony was held in the Performing Arts Center and included a welcome from Emmanuel (Gus) Scaria, current NHS president as well as the singing of the alma mater by North Royalton High School choir members. Shoppers Stuff the Bus to replenish the NR Foodbank

On Saturday, October 12, the North Royalton City School Bus Drivers held a “Stuff the Bus” event at the Giant Eagle Supermarket on Royalton Road. A big yellow school bus was parked outside the grocery store to accept food donations from shoppers - from canned goods to pasta dinners and everything in between. Elementary school program fosters friendships and community advocates

“Understanding” and “Acceptance” are two mindsets that can have a hard time finding their place in the hallways of a bustling public elementary school.
