Son inspires family to launch H-Bomb Ties

Many a Father, Grandfather and Godfather will be receiving a tie for Father’s Day. Ties and Father’s Day are pretty synonymous, a gesture of love and care of someone very close. It was those same reasons why H-Bomb Ties began - love and care of someone very close. North Royalton residents, John and Tera Chmura love and care for their ten-year-old son Harrison. Ground prepared for new elementary school building

The North Royalton School District Building project is in full swing. “Work is progressing on our two construction sites, said North Royalton School Superintendent Greg Gurka. At the new elementary school property, located at the southwest corner of State Road and Valley Parkway, work has begun to construct the new school. “The first phase of this was to have specific trees cut down that will become the footprint of the building,” said Gurka. “Our goal is to keep as many of the existing trees on the site as possible while still allowing us to construct the building and the driveway ....

NRFD welcomes residents to Safety Fair to learn and interact

Sometimes the best lessons occur when we don’t realize we’re learning. For the city’s youngest residents, the annual North Royalton Fire Department Safety Fair & Open House is one of those occasions. Generous community awards scholarships to 104 seniors

The 82nd annual North Royalton Local Scholarship and Awards Ceremony was held on May 9 at the North Royalton High School Dan Calabrese Center for the Performing Arts. Scholarships totaling more than $87,000 were presented to 104 high school seniors by business owners, civic organizations and individuals. School Board News

The May meeting of the North Royalton Board of Education took place on Monday, May 13. Reno Contipelli, from the Ohio School Board Association presented an OSBA Master Board Member award to North Royalton School Board member Jackie Arendt. He noted that only four of these awards were given in the state. He also praised the other Board members for their efforts of continuing education, which is voluntary. Misstep causes jeep to careen into building

On Thursday, May 2, a sleeping North Royalton resident received quite a rude awakening when a vehicle crashed through the first floor apartment bedroom. Luckily, no one was injured. The resident in the apartment stated that “I was sleeping when I was awakened by a vehicle crashing through my bedroom window. Council provide testimony to State on Budget

On Monday, May 6, two North Royalton Council representatives provided joint testimony at the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus. They were representing North Royalton’s interests for potential funding to be included in the state’s next budget. Ward 3 Councilman Dan Langshaw and Ward 4 Councilman Paul Marnecheck provided testimony before the Ohio House of Representative’s Finance Committee, who was discussing House Bill 166 on the state’s biennium budget. County proposes ban on plastic bags

Members of the Cuyahoga County Council are discussing placing a ban on disposable plastic shopping bags. The measure was introduced by County Council members District 11 Sunny M. Simon and District 2 Dale Miller on April 9 and referred to the Education, Environment and Sustainability Committee. It is expected to be voted upon later this month. ‘Poor Man’s Raffle’ is rich in fellowship, charity

At the May 4 North Royalton Lions Club Poor Man’s Raffle event, one thing was different while another remained very much the same. It will be a very special weekend for North Royalton High School seniors as they gather for Prom at Weymouth Country Club in Medina.
