With the beginning of August, many North Royalton School District Employees received raises, which were adopted by the North Royalton Board of Education.
The Board unanimously approved a contract at their May 15 School Board meeting with the North Royalton Education Association (NREA), for the period of August 1, 2025 through July 31, 2028. The NREA is the union that represents the district’s teachers, therapists, counselors, and psychologists. Under the new contract in August, 2025, the range for Certificated/Licensed Salary ranges from $50,489 to $107,938. In 2026 the range is from $50,489 to $111,177. In 2027, the range is $52,004 to $114,513. Teachers who have not used sick or personal leave during any month during the school year shall receive the following merit incentive for attendance payments: August, $20; September and October $40 each month; November and December $50 each month; January and February, $40 each month; March and April, $60 each month; May, $100.
The Board also unanimously approved a compensation plan for the District Central Office Administrators and the North Royalton Principals Association. This agreement also covers the period of August 1, 2025 through July 31, 2028. The new agreement will provide for a pay increase of three percent in each of the next three years.
For Central Office Administrators: The beginning base salary for beginning administrators shall be $89,521 for 2025, $92,207 for 2026 and $94,973 for 2027. Those employees will also receive longevity pay equal to 16 percent of their base salary 20-24 years of employment of service and 18 percent after 25 years of service.
For North Royalton Principals’ Association: The beginning base salary for beginning administrators shall be $89,521 for 2025, $92,207 for 2026 and $94,973 for 2027. They will also receive longevity pay equal to six percent of their base salary after four years; eight percent for years 5-6; nine percent for years 7-8; ten percent for years 9-10; 11 percent for years 11-12; 12% for year 13 and 15% for years 14 and above.
For Central Office Professional Staff Association, which includes Food Service, Aides, Clerks, Custodians, Bus Drivers, Maintenance Workers and Mechanics will receive a raise of 3.5 percent in 2025 and 2026, and a 3.25 percent raise for 2027, in an agreement that was approved by the Board of Education in June. In the month of August of each year, employees with 0 to 4 years of service will receive $150; for 5-14 years of service, $650 and employees with 15 or more years of service, $900. Each quarter, the employee will receive $125 who did not use sick or personal leave. The employees portion of the state retirement plan is paid for by the District.
School Superintendent Mike Laub said the total of the increases will cost the district about $5.4 million over the three year time period.
