The North Royalton Board of Education held their regular monthly meeting on Thursday, June 12.
The Board accepted bids for general liability, fleet and umbrella insurance from Alera Group Company for the insurance contract for the District from July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026.
The Board approved the endorsements to the District’s liability policy to include: North Royalton Athletic Boosters, North Royalton Band Boosters, North Royalton Choir Boosters, North Royalton Elementary School PTA, North Royalton Middle School PTA, North Royalton High School PTA, North Royalton Early Childhood PTA, North Royalton PTA Council, North Royalton Stadium Foundation and the North Royalton Educational Foundation, effective July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026.
The Board adopted a resolution upon the retirement of Carolyn Baetjer, Michael Colabianchi, Laura Kunz, Elisabeth Nevits, Gerald Niemira, Kirk Pavelich, Theodore Petryszyn, Wendelyn Ranucci. Cathleen Rush, Angeline Scott, Kerry Sheppard, Barbara Soza, Sharon Vonderau, Kathleen Zink.

The Board adopted the negotiated agreement with the Ohio Association of Public School Employees for the period of August 1, 2025 through July 31, 2028.
The Board approved the compensation plans for the Central Office Professional Staff Association, effective August 1, 2025 through July 31, 2028.
The Board approved the 2025-26 classified employee work calendar.

The Board approve agreements with the following: Connect for services effective July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2028; American Scoreboards I, LLC, for scoring, fan engagement and experience enhancement in athletic, academic and other school functions, for ten years, at a cost not to exceed $7,500 per year; Cummins Sales and Service for planned service and monitoring of generators for the 2025-26 school year; USA Mobile of Northeast Ohio for bus/van driver drug and alcohol testing effective July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026; U.S. Protective Services for burglar alarm servicing and monitors from June 6, 2025 to June 30, 2028; Positive Education Program/Pep Assist for services for the 2025-26 school year; ABA Outreach Services for behaviors services for the 2025-26 school year; Handle with Care Behavior Management System, Inc. The Board adopted three resolutions authorizing the execution of a memorandum of understanding with the North Royalton Band Boosters, the North Royalton Athletic Boosters and the North Royalton Choir Boosters.
The Board accepted and acknowledged the following gifts/donations:
-Leonti’s Outdoor Supply of North Royalton donated two yards of sweet peet and top soil, valued at $170, to North Royalton Middle School for the fifth-grade Kindness Garden.
-Jolly’s Pizza of North Royalton donated pizzas valued at $350 to North Royalton High School for the Strengths Leadership Program.
-The Pete Leneghan Entrepreneurship Foundation donated $2,500 to North Royalton High School to enhance the District’s entrepreneurship program.
-The North Royalton Middle School PTA donated $500 to the eighth-grade water tag game on field day at North Royalton Middle School.
-Augie’s Catering donated four pizzas for the North Royalton High School Brilliant Bear Program, valued at $115.80.
-The North Royalton Education Association donated $896.00 to North Royalton High School for the senior yard signs.
-The North Royalton Educational Foundation donated $2,000 towards the cost of the Senior Honors Luncheon at North Royalton High School.
-The North Royalton High School PTA donated a total of $5,921.00 to North Royalton High School for the Senior Honors Luncheon, the Pride of NRHS, the NRHS Brilliant Bear Program, Senior Yard Signs, and the staff after-commencement gathering.
