The first meeting of the North Royalton Board of Education, the organizational meeting, took place on Monday, January 5.
The Board approved the following positions for 2026:

Board Vice President, Chris May
The following are the 2026 dates for the regular/work session meetings as follows: February 9, March 9, April 13, May 11, June 15, July 13, August 10, September 14, October 12, November 9 and December 14. Meetings begin at 6 p.m.
The following are the 2026 dates for the regular meetings as follows: February 12, March 12, April 16, May 14, June 18, June 29, July 16, August 12, September 16, October 15, November 12 and December 17.  Meetings begin at 6 p.m.
The first regularly scheduled meeting of 2026 took place on Wednesday, January 7.
The Board approved the members to attend the Consortium of State School Boards Associations National Conference, Education Evolution, on March 13-15, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky.
The Board adopted the Fiscal Year 2026-27 Tax Budget.  It then approved the following fund appropriation adjustments: 011-Rotary Fund, from $8,529.33 to $13,529.33, and 516-9026 Idea B from $1,180,116.41 to $1,185,800.67.
The Board approved the following unpaid leave of absences:
Michael Cox/effective January 28, 2026 through March 11, 2026
George Kostelac/effective January 5, 2026 through June 4, 2026
Henry Richardson/effective February 18, 2026 through February 20, 2026
The Board approved the following appointments of certified staff:
Justin Lutz/Assistant Principal/effective August 1, 2026/at a base of salary of $105,116.00

The Board approved the following non-licensed supplemental employment:
Sharon Bohland/High School/Letterman’s Club Advisor/effective November 3, 2025
The Board approved the following 2025-26 Athletic Worker:
Sophia Rodriguez/effective January 6, 2026.
School Superintendent, Mike Laub, proclaimed January as School Board Recognition Month.
The Board authorized Summer School and Safety Town for the summer of 2026.
The Board approved the 2026-27 North Royalton High School Course Catalog.
The Board approved the 2025-26 edition of the Interagency Agreement regarding the Provision of Service Delivery and Transition for Young Children & Families.
The Board accepted and acknowledged the following gifts/donations:
-Aguilares Inc. of Bedford Heights donated $400 to be used for expenses associated with the district therapy dog.
-The Lang family of North Royalton donated $638 to North Royalton Middle School for the Washington, D.C., trip.
