The North Royalton Board of Education’s monthly School Board meeting took place on  Thursday, February 12. Assistant Superintendent, Melissa Vojta reported on a teaching and learning update.
The Board approved the following 2025-26 appropriation adjustments: Fund 300 District Managed Student Activity Fund, from $630,000 to $680,000; Fund  516-9026 IDEA-B Fund from  $1,185,800.67 to $1,185,766.90; Fund 551-9026 Title III Language from $47,940.51 to $48,123.97; Fund 572-9026 Title I-A from $416,439.61 to $418,758.90; Fund 587-9026 Early Childhood from $23,200.55 to $23,205.18; Fund 590-9026 Title II-A from $98,848.84 to $100,839.74; Fund 584-9026 Title IV-A from $32,898.02 to $33,109.18.
The Board approved the updated Fiscal Year 2026 Financial Forecast.
North Royalton School Superintendent, Mike Laub reported on how the administration plans for permanent improvement funds and projects.
The Board accepted the retirement of Tracy Csizmadia, effective June 30, 2026. They also approved the following leaves of absence:
Michael Cox/effective February 6, 2026 (½ day p.m.) through February 24, 2026
Alan Farley/effective February 6, 2026 (½ day p.m.) through May 1, 2026

-Jasminne Wessel/from Middle School Assistant Principal to Middle School Principal/effective August 1, 2026 through July 31, 2029, at a base salary of $113,000
The Board approved Jackie Arendt as delegate and Chris May as alternate to the Ohio School Boards Association’s Annual Capital Conference, held November 15-17, 2026.
The Board approved the renewal membership in the Ohio High School Athletic Association for the 2026-27 school year.
The Board authorized an option and lease agreement for a telecommunication tower on a portion of its property at Abbey Road with Network Towers II, LLC.
The Board authorized the administration to procure seating at the North Royalton High School Performing Arts Center in an amount not to exceed $225,000 through Farnham Equipment and its Sourcewell Contract.
The Board authorized the administration to procure professional and construction services for the design and construction of a ramp at the North Royalton High School Performing Arts Center in an amount not to exceed $75,000.
The Board approved an agreement with New Story for special education programs and services starting February 2, 2026 through the remainder of the 2025-26 school year.
The Board approved the following extended trip proposal:
Myrtle Beach, SC (March 30, 2026 – April 3, 2026)
North Royalton High School Baseball Team (Tournament)
The Board approved and acknowledged the following gifts and donations:
-The Barrish family donated $214 to North Royalton Middle School for the eighth-grade trip to Washington, D.C.
-The Tichy family donated $100 to North Royalton Middle School for the eighth-grade trip to Washington, D.C.
-Tiffany Casale donated $20 to North Royalton Middle School for the eighth-grade trip to Washington, D.C.
-The North Royalton Democratic Club donated $575 to North Royalton Middle School for the eighth-grade trip to Washington, D.C.
-The Hrehocik Family donated $1,000 to North Royalton Middle School for the eighth-grade trip to Washington, D.C.
-Several anonymous donors donated a total amount of $400 to North Royalton Middle School for the eighth-grade trip to Washington, D.C.
The next regular Meeting will be held on March 12 at 6 p.m. at the North Royalton High School Community Room.
