Voters to see City and State Issues in November election

North Royalton Voters will have an opportunity in November to decide if they would like to make a change to the city’s charter and to two changes to the state’s constitution. The charter change would not only increase the term of Ward Council Representatives from two to four years, but, could potentially increase the actual term from its current twelve-year limit. The state constitutional changes address reproductive health and legalized marijuana. The proposed city charter amendment would allow Ward Council Representatives to serve four-year terms, instead of the current two-year terms. ....

North Royalton improves scores in Best High School Rankings

This year, the North Royalton High School climbed in the ranks of Ohio High Schools, from 117 last year, to 73 this year, according to the U.S. News and World Report 2023 rankings of public schools. Every year, the national magazine lists the best high schools across the United States and District of Columbia. Emergency Alert System Test is set for October

By GLORIA PLEVA KACIK Contributing Writer The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will be conducting an Emergency Alert System test, in conjunction with the Federal Communications Commissions on Wednesday, October 4. The test will take place across the entire United States. On October 4, the test is scheduled from about 2:20 p.m. eastern time. 137th Community Festival offers end-of-summer fun for the whole family

Are you ready for a fun weekend of putting work aside and just relaxing and having fun at the 137th Annual North Royalton Community Festival? Well, we are ready, too, and soon, on August 25, 26, and 27, the Community Festival will be held on the City Green at the corner of Ridge and Royalton Roads. Schools, City welcome new K9 Support Dog

With the new school year just beginning, a new face will be seen around North Royalton schools. Luna, a six-month-old Golden Doodle will be making her debut, with the beginning of the K-9 Therapy Dog Program. North Royalton Police Department School Resource Officer (SRO), Alexandra Jezior, recently introduced City Council to the newest member of the North Royalton Police Department, Luna, the new K-9 Support dog. NR CERT marks 20 years of community service

The North Royalton CERT held its annual appreciation dinner on Saturday, June 10, at St. Albert the Great Parish Life Center. This year celebrates NR CERT’s 20th Anniversary. In addition to the NR CERT members, most of the North Royalton City Council members were present, along with Mayor Larry Antoskiewicz and President of Council Paul Marnecheck. NRHS Alumnus becomes Director of “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band

Maj. Ryan J. Nowlin, a 1996 graduate of North Royalton High School (NRHS) and member of the NRHS Alumni Hall of Fame, was recently nominated to be the next Director of “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band. Col. Jason K.
