Council looks at Marijuana legislation

The North Royalton City Council is discussing a measure that would prohibit cannabis operations within its municipal jurisdiction. The ordinance, introduced by Mayor Larry Antoskiewicz, was introduced at the November 21 City Council meeting. On November 7, the Ohio electorate passed a law that legalizes recreational marijuana. The law takes effect on December 7. Area chaplains to offer support services to safety forces

On November 21, the North Royalton City Council unanimously approved the appointments of four chaplains that will be serving the North Royalton safety services. The four were introduced at the Council Safety Committee meeting before being approved at the City Council meeting, later that evening. An ordinance was adopted at the November 8 meeting which amended the City’s codified ordinances to include a new section that created the volunteer position of Chaplain of the Safety Forces. City Council eyes new sewer rate schedule

A presentation was given to the City Council Finance Committee at their November 21 meeting on the proposed sewer rates. The presentation was given by Raftelis Financial, which conducted the five-year rate study. The management consulting firm has been working on the study for about fifteen months. The plan includes recommendations for proposed rates for the next five years for the sewer enterprise fund, in order to provide the revenues to support the sewer system. Assistant Superintendent, Melissa Vojta and School Superintendent, Mike Laub, gave a presentation regarding the district’s recent professional development day. Mayor and Council President retain seats

The majority of voters in North Royalton have chosen to retain the City’s Administrative and Council positions, according to results of the November 7 election. Most of the City Council wards, however, didn’t have opposition, except for Ward 2. In all three races, the incumbent won. For the position of Mayor, with 62.51% of the vote, Larry Antoskiewicz won over Diane Sacha, with a count of 6922 for Antoskiewicz and 4151 for Sacha. Could the third time be a charm for Carrie Cerino’s future? The event center and restaurant, located on Ridge between Sprague and Albion roads, closed in February 2020, has another new owner. Another Superior Performance – NRHS Marching Band Earns Top Honor at State Finals

The North Royalton High School (NRHS) marching band capped off their successful season by earning a Superior rating at the OMEA State Marching Band Finals in Columbus on Saturday, October 28. Performing their competition show "Fortune Favors the Bold" at Hilliard Bradley High School, the band received the highest rating possible, “Superior,” from the judging panel. St. Albert the Great Parishioners out in community lending a hand

St. Albert the Great’s parishioners took the weekend of October 13 and 14 to be the hands and feet of Jesus, going to where they could lend a hand to spread the gospel by doing good. The Parish Day of Service started eleven years ago with about 400 volunteers spending one Saturday sorting cans of food or clothing at a donation site or doing some outdoor clean up.
