Tazza Glass offers unique gifts that are born of fire and passion. Artist and owner Mike Grau, a ’95 graduate of NRHS, learned the glass blowing trade at Bowling Green State University. Mike explains, “I have been blowing
glass for 18 years and had my business in Medina for 12 years. I make lots of Christmas, decorative, and gift items as well as functional vases, bowls, and tumblers.” Mike offers something that is extremely rare nowadays, “Everything is all handmade by myself, in North Royalton. Visitors can watch me work and ask questions about any
part of the process.” When you do go to watch Mike create, be prepared for some heat. Mike works only with molten glass. Glass is almost a liquid with an extremely high melting point of 2000 degrees Fahrenheit. It must me continually heated to that melting stage to allow the blowing, layering and shaping to take place.
