Route 82 widening sees shortened path to completion

Some good news in the current phase of the Rt. 82 widening project comes in the form of potential shortened time line of the project and a traffic flow that is actually better than originally anticipated. The project will convert Rt. 82, which runs east/west through North Royalton, from a two-lane road to a three-lane road, with six-foot sidewalks and seven-foot tree lawns one each side, as well as two 15-foot lanes and an 11-foot turning lane, completing a span of 78 feet. School staff trains to “Stop the Bleed” in case of emergency

Students and staff of North Royalton City Schools are entering the second half of the academic year even more prepared for emergency situations. A program named “Stop the Bleed” is training school district staff on how to use their hands, supplied dressings and tourniquets to control bleeding and be better equipped to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives. The program is a partnership between the local fire department and University Hospitals Parma Medical Center, who donated more than 400 buckets and 90 trauma kits – enough for every building classroom, district ....

The first meeting of the North Royalton Board of Education took place on Monday, January 7, directly following the yearly organizational meeting. During the organizational meeting, the John Kelly was nominated as the 2019 Board President and Anne Reinkober as the Board Vice President. Jim Presot rehired as School Assistant Superintendent

The North Royalton City Schools Board of Education approved a new contract to Assistant Superintendent, Jim Presot, at their January meeting on Monday, January 7. Presot retired at the end of last year. The Board approved the appointment of Presot as Assistant Superintendent, effective February 1, 2019 through July 31, 2022, at a pro-rated base salary of $65,181.40 for the period of February 1, 2019 - July 31, 2019. Safety forces add three new hires

North Royalton City Council approved three new hires for the North Royalton Police and Fire Departments at their January 15 meeting. Two of the new recruits are for the Fire Department and one new hire for the Police Department. The two new members of the North Royalton Fire Department are Yaroslav Yavorski and Isaac R. Siman. Both started with the Fire Department, effective January 7. Both were sworn in on Friday, January 4. They will be replacing Ken Valvoda, who retired in June, 2018 and Greg Kasmir, who will be retiring this spring. Yaroslav Yavorski is a graduate of Strongsville High ....
