UH assistant manager wins game ticket of a lifetime
When Catherine Wilson received an email at work alerting her that she had won a free ticket to Super Bowl LV, she figured it was spam and quickly deleted it. Then came the follow-up phone call with the same news. “I thought it was a prank call,” said Wilson, a North Royalton resident who works as emergency room assistant nurse manager at UH Cleveland Medical Center. But it was no prank. Together with the Cleveland Browns, University Hospitals had selected three local health care heroes to be the team’s special guests at the Feb. 7 Super Bowl in Tampa Bay and Wilson was one of them, al ....
Greek Orthodox Church finding ways to bring parishioners together
Eleni Johnson of St. Paul Greek Orthodox Church remembers March 8, 2020, very well. It was, unbeknownst to anyone at the Wallings Road church, the last time the large youth ministry population would see each other again before the pandemic changed everything. “When the kids left Sunday School and dance practice, the whole world shut down that week,” Johnson reflected. “Many of them haven’t been back. Youth ministries have either been postponed or turned to Zoom.” Now, almost a year later, Johnson, who serves as Hellenic Dance director and co-adviser for Greek Orthodox Youth of Am ....
High school offering farewell tours as sections are prepared for demolition
North Royalton High School Principal and Alumnus, Sean Osborne, met his future wife in Cafeteria Two. As part of the high school’s ong ....

Kociuba flew the B-2 stealth bomber and is just one of ten woman pilots of the aircraft in the nation, according to Cleveland.com. Kociuba, the first female pilot to lead a Super Bowl Flyover, is a graduate of the University of Dayton. In her email with the Royalton Recorder, Kociuba noted how proud she is to represent North Royalton, adding that her parents have always been and continue to be supporters a ....
Bears repeat as Suburban League National Conference Champs
Back-to-back Suburban League National Conference Champions. Sweeter words were never spoken about the 2020-21 North Royalton Bears’ Varsity Boys Basketball team. The Bears wrapped up a share of the title with a 71-53 win over Brecksville-Broadview Heights on Saturday, January 30. North Royalton finishes the Suburban League National season with a 6-1 record and shares the championship with the Bees. The game did not start well for North Royalton. At the end of the first quarter, the Bees had a 22-11 advantage over the Bears. That’s when the North Royalton seniors took over. In the ....
