The North Royalton Board of Education held their October meeting on Monday, October 10.
Assistant Superintendent, Melissa Vojta and Director of Secondary Curriculum and Instruction, Jeff Cicerchi, gave a presentation on the state report card. School Superintendent Matt Laub responded, stating “I think we have a lot of positives to take out of that data. . . .We cannot put all of our eggs in one data bucket. That’s one piece of a larger puzzle of what we do every day with kids, whether the data from the state is awesome, or not so awesome. It’s information to provide us with ways to move forward.” He talked about utilizing the data for setting goals to improve.
One resident addressed the Board praising the Power School application. The second addressed the Board on the Senior Center aspect of Royal View.
The Board approved the Fiscal Year 2023 Five-Year Forecast.

The Board approved a memorandum of understanding with the North Royalton Police Department in regards to the School Resource Officer.
The Board approved the 2023-24 School Year Calendar.
The Board approved an agreement with Sign Language Interpreters for interpreter services, as needed, effective September 28, 2022.
The Board accepted and acknowledged the following gifts/donations:
-Carol Estrate of North Royalton donated a variety of school supplies to the District.
-Mike Kecic of Strongsville donated an HP MFP printer to the District for a value of approximately $500.00
-Julie Owen of North Royalton donated $525.00 to North Royalton Middle School for the eighth-grade trip to Washington, D.C.
-Dairy Queen of Parma donated 50 coupons for a small Blizzard treat and 50 coupons for a round of mini golf to the PBIS program at North Royalton Middle School.
The next regularly scheduled board meeting will take place on Monday, November 21, 7 p.m. at the North Royalton High School Community Room.
