Council approves 2019 budget

The North Royalton City Council adopted the city’s 2019 budget at their December 4 meeting. Although Council has until March 31 to adopt the city’s budget, City Council has adopted it before year’s end over the past few years. The measure was unanimously adopted after three readings. The 2019 budget has a total of just over $43 million, which is seen as a very lean budget. “I’m very conservative,” said North Royalton Finance Director, Eric Dean. “This budget is probably as bare bones as we have had in all the years I’ve been doing this,” said Council President Larry Antos ....

Omni submits proposal for second Senior Citizens Development

Beachwood-based developer Omni, L.L.C. has proposed another senior living residential community for North Royalton. The development, Vitalia Senior Living, is proposed for the area on York Road, just north of Tilby Road. Omni had proposed a similar community last year for the area of Sprague and State Roads, but was not able to move forward after voters turned down the rezoning of the property it was looking to build. NRCS honor two dedicated staff members with the Crystal Starfish Award

On December 19, North Royalton City Schools announced the winners of the first semester Crystal Starfish Award presented by First Federal of Lakewood. At North Royalton High School, intervention specialist Amy Vance was presented the Crystal Starfish Teacher Award. Besides the award, she also received a $250 Professional Development Grant from First Federal of Lakewood, a $50 gift certificate to Cleat’s restaurant and flowers from Independence Flowers and Gifts.
